Natick becomes the first mission community where members of the Nipmuc and Massachusett nations are taught to adopt English ways of life in order to become 'true Christians'. Around 1660, Megunko or Makunkokoag (Hopkinton/Ashland) and Okkokonimesit (Marlborough) are founded as Praying Towns as well.
